A Little Sunday Afternoon....

Family Fun!!!

Being Sunday and all, we were wanting to have a little outdoor family fun...it's been extremely hot around here as this "heat wave" has settled smack-dab over the entire Midwest. Today, after some early weekend showers, was a little overcast so Jason and I took advantage and rounded the kids up for a trip to the local swimming hole. Trey & Tylee have both been to this particular pool a few times with me since we've moved here, but Little Miss Taylen hadn't gotten the chance to join us. Today marked the first time we've visited as a family of five and Tay-Tay loved it (for the hour or so until nap time came into play)....

Does she look ready or what?!?!

Trey is quickly discovering swimming underwater...and LOVIN' it!!

Tylee is my true little fish! She HATES to get out of the water!!!

Daddy and his kiddos....

Me and my Munchkins....

Just Jumpin'.....

Tay had her fair share of swimming for the afternoon...off to nap!!!

Tylee jumpin' in like a big girl!!

Trey in underwater action!!!

Slide time!!! Splishin' and a Splashin'....

Ty throwing the ball at me...she's definitely got quite the arm! Future Ball Player?!?! For. Sure.

Tay-Tay checking everything out....

Happy Pool Baby!

Trey is SUCH a Ham for the Cam!!!

Jason was off to football practice about 30 minutes after we walked through the door....so, it was nice to get out and about all together in-between all his football activities!! What a fun afternoon for the Weites!!! We definitely LOVE summer break and all the family fun that comes along with it....

Enjoy the rest of July and here's to beatin' the heat....regardless of how you do it!!!!

CEREAL TIME....

and Little Miss Taylen didn't exactly know what to think or do with the whole idea....

This was this afternoon and actually marked her SECOND try with cereal.

Being an excited Mom, I tried giving her cereal last night. But, she wanted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it!! Looking back, I never should have tried it considering she got shots yesterday afternoon and was such a cuddle bunny. Trying cereal late at night was the last thing on Earth she wanted to take part in. Just peek at the pic below and you'll see EXACTLY what I'm talking about....

Poor Girl!! What was Mommy thinking??

But, on an extremely positive note, Miss Tay-Tay woke up in a much better and rested mood this morning. Below is a pick of her showing off her new favorite pastime.....PLAYING WITH HER PIGGIES!!!! I LOVE watching her discover those cute little hands and feet of hers......

Isn't she the cutest?!?!

Little Miss Taylen rocked her 4 month well-baby check-up....she weighed 14 lbs, 9 oz and measured 25 1/2 inches long. What a big baby she's getting to be!!!

On a side note, our friends, Karrie & Vince, made the 5 hour haul from Chicago this past weekend to visit. I played college softball with Karrie and we've been friends ever since. We had a blast and totally enjoyed their visit. Trey was Vince's mini-me by the end of the weekend and the girls couldn't get enough of "Aunt" Karrie ;) It was so nice to get together with them and have a date night out on the town in downtown Des Moines. Thanks for making the trip you two and we can't wait to see you again!!!!

Happy Wednesday night, y'all and here's to a fantastic second half of the week!!!

Taylen Jae is FOUR months old!

Exactly five days ago, my baby girl hit the four month mark!! I cannot believe how fast time is going and how quickly she is growing up on me....

Isn't she such a CUTIE!??!

Dear Taylen Jae,

You are such a precious little baby girl! You are changing each and every day and are so alert! Blowing bubbles is your favorite pastime and we definitely call you a drool bucket. I'm guessing that teething is right around the corner. Your 4-month checkup is tomorrow with your new pediatrician up here in West Des Moines. You've been sleeping in your crib since we moved in and are sleeping a good 7-8 hour stretch at night. You're talking (in your own little baby language) to everyone and LOVE to laugh at your big brother and sister. We can always count on you to brighten each day and remind us just how special we are to each other. The binky is your best friend and you're nursing just about ever 3-4 hours during the day. Your big, toothless grin, brings a smile to everyone. You'll be starting cereal here in a couple days...after your checkup! You are rockin' tummy time and have even begun to "roll" over...even if it was a fluke...you're always a kickin' so the real log rollin' isn't too far away.....

I love you baby girl and can't wait to see all the new things your 5th month of life has in store for you!!!

XOXOXOX

~Mommy

I feel like such a....

SLACKER!!!

At least, that is, when it comes to the blogging world lately. I am sooooo far behind, that it's not even funny!

I'm not going to give you a list of excuses like the fact that we moved, are unpacking, finding new doctors and dentists, going to the pool, unpacking, visiting the Zoo, hanging out with friends, unpacking, hitting the gym, getting paperwork and info figured out for our new jobs, finding daycare, unpacking, coaching football, finding a new credit union, changing our addresses with every company possible, moving furniture and then moving it back again, unpacking, playing with the kiddos, cleaning, cutting grass, making school decisions for Trey, and more unpacking.....

No really, I do feel bad because I know there are many of you that want a few updates, so I'm going to do the best I can to catch you up...without getting too long-winded! The list above sums up a lot of what's been going on here. But, overall, we LOVE our new house and new town and are going to spend the last couple weeks of summer enjoying it even more. Come August 1st....it's back to the daily grind for me!!!

Below are a few pics to recap what's been going on around here.....

Feeding a CRAZY amount of Koi fish!!

Posing with Mommy and enjoying the fun (in the 115 degree heat index!!!!!!)

Thanks for being so patient with me and my LACK OF blogging! My goal is to get back into the routine...or at least updating once a week. I know now that maternity leave is over, summer is coming to an end, and it's time to get back to work the blogging isn't going to be at the top of priority list, but I do promise to do better than I have been!!

Have a fantastic week and try to stay cool!!

Until I blog again....
